Rooted in Faith. Centred on Christ.

In 1987, the late Myles Dempsey started the annual New Dawn in the Church Catholic Conference, held in the historic village of Walsingham.

The conference attracted around 3,000 Catholics each year, with those attending experiencing a great renewal of faith through inspiring talks given by priests, religious and lay speakers.

New Dawn in the Church has since spread beyond Walsingham to Scotland, Portugal, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Zambia and Uganda.

New Dawn in Scotland held its first five-day annual conference in St Andrews in 2010. This included a Rosary procession, led by a statue of Our Lady of Aberdeen, followed by Holy Mass celebrated among the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral.

In 2020, our venue closed, followed shortly afterwards by the COVID pandemic. Rather than restarting the annual conference in another location, we decided to take New Dawn in Scotland around the country.

Today, we visit parishes throughout Scotland, offering a New Dawn Day or an evening Healing Service.

Alongside a team of volunteers and music ministry, we bring gifted Catholic speakers to encourage parishioners on their journey of faith. These gatherings also provide opportunities for prayer and healing through the Blessed Sacrament and Priestly Ministry.
